Call for Papers
International Journal of Law (IJL)
Vol. 1 No. 2 | December 2025 Edition
The International Journal of Law (IJL) is now accepting manuscript submissions for Volume 1, Issue 2, scheduled for publication in December 2025. IJL is a peer-reviewed, open-access academic journal published by BUM Desa Berkaho Pungpungan, dedicated to the advancement of legal scholarship in the fields of Islamic law, general law, and legal education.
We invite original research articles, literature reviews, and conceptual papers that critically engage with legal theory and practice. Submissions that explore the evolving interface between Islamic jurisprudence and modern legal systems are particularly encouraged.
Focus and Scope
IJL is committed to publishing high-quality, original, and peer-reviewed research that advances scholarly understanding in the domains of general law, Islamic law, and legal education. The journal provides a multidisciplinary and cross-jurisdictional platform that encourages critical reflection on how both secular and religious legal systems respond to contemporary challenges in justice, governance, ethics, and education.
IJL promotes research that integrates theoretical inquiry, comparative analysis, and applied legal studies—particularly those focused on legal systems in Muslim-majority countries, multicultural states, and developing legal institutions.
Areas of interest include (but are not limited to):
-
Comparative and general law, including secular and Islamic legal traditions, constitutional, criminal, civil, administrative, and procedural law, legal reforms, access to justice, and legal modernization
