Peer Reviewer Process

All manuscripts submitted to the International Journal of Islamic Education Studies (IJIES) undergo a rigorous peer review process to ensure the quality and integrity of published articles.

  1. Initial Screening (1–2 weeks)

    • The Editorial Team checks the manuscript’s relevance to the journal’s scope, compliance with submission guidelines, and similarity (plagiarism) report.

    • Manuscripts that do not meet basic requirements will be returned to the author before entering the review stage.

  2. Double-Blind Peer Review (4–6 weeks)

    • IJIES implements a double-blind peer review process, in which both reviewers and authors remain anonymous.

    • Each manuscript is reviewed by at least two independent reviewers with expertise in the relevant field.

  3. Reviewer Evaluation

    • Reviewers assess the manuscript based on originality, theoretical framework, methodology, clarity of presentation, significance of findings, and contribution to the field of Islamic education.

    • Reviewers provide constructive feedback and recommendations (Accept, Minor Revision, Major Revision, or Reject).

  4. Editorial Decision (1 week)

    • Based on the reviewers’ reports, the Editor-in-Chief makes the final decision regarding acceptance, revision, or rejection.

    • Authors are notified of the decision along with reviewers’ comments.

  5. Revision and Resubmission (2–4 weeks depending on revision type)

    • If revisions are required, authors must revise the manuscript according to reviewers’ suggestions and resubmit within the specified timeframe.

    • Revised manuscripts may be sent back to reviewers for re-evaluation if necessary.

  6. Final Acceptance and Production (2 weeks)

    • Once a manuscript meets all academic and ethical standards, it is formally accepted for publication.

    • Accepted manuscripts are copyedited, proofread, and formatted before online publication.
