Correction and Retraction
The International Journal of Islamic Education Studies (IJIES) is committed to maintaining the accuracy, integrity, and transparency of the scholarly record. To achieve this, the journal will issue corrections, retractions, or expressions of concern when necessary, in line with the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).
Corrections (Errata/ Corrigenda)
-
Minor errors that do not affect the overall findings or reliability of the article (such as typographical mistakes, author name misspelling, or minor data presentation issues) may be corrected through the publication of a correction notice.
-
Corrections will be linked to the original article and freely accessible.
Retractions
-
Retraction will be issued if:
-
The findings are unreliable due to misconduct (e.g., data fabrication, falsification, plagiarism) or honest error (e.g., miscalculation, experimental error).
-
The article constitutes redundant publication (duplicate submission/publication).
-
The article contains unethical research or violates professional standards.
-
-
Retracted articles will remain accessible online but clearly marked as “Retracted” to ensure transparency in the scholarly record.
Expressions of Concern
-
In cases where an investigation is inconclusive but there are well-founded concerns about the integrity of a paper, the journal may publish an Expression of Concern until a final decision is made.
Process
-
All correction, retraction, or concern notices will be published promptly and will clearly state the reasons and responsible parties (author(s), editor(s), or publisher).
-
Authors and their institutions will be formally notified in cases of retraction or serious correction.
